Information on the coronavirus

Here you will find the latest information on traveling in times of the pandemic, as well as our hygiene measures on board.

We have always taken special measures in case of special situations. Therefore, you can be assured that we have taken all precautions in consultation with and advice from experts to enable our passengers to travel safely.

High quality cleaning processes on our ships and in our buildings, which are effective against viruses, have always been a standard for us. We are also working closely with the Robert Koch Institute and other authorities to closely coordinate our additional measures and adapt them to the current development.

At our ticket counters

  • We have increased the information signage for passengers to promote personal health and safety.
  • We have increased the use of disinfectants in our toilets, offices, desks and ticket counters, as well as signage to remind people to wash their hands healthily and safely.
  • We have provided information and training to our staff and crews on maintaining health and what to do in the event of illness and/or suspected illness.
  • We are in constant contact with the relevant authorities in order to be able to take further measures at any time to achieve the best possible safety for our guests, staff and crew members.

Travelling safely


Disinfect hands

Ensure regular and thorough hand hygiene (Wash hands for at least 20-30 seconds washing hands with soap or hand disinfection).

Mask obligation

Please remember the obligation to cover your mouth and nose in public areas (ports), on the ships, during boarding and all sales outlets of the Reederei Hiddensee GmbH.

Keep your distance

In order to enjoy the boat trip together and without and without worry, we ask you to keep to the applicable distance rules (minimum distance of 1.5 m). Otherwise, it is compulsory to wear an FFP2 or surgical mask, even on the open deck.

Shaking hands

Avoid touching, hugging and shaking hands.

Follow instructions

Please follow the instructions of our staff on board, at the mooring and points of sale.

Forming groups

Please avoid forming groups and observe the applicable distance rules.

Coughing and sneezing etiquette

Please observe the coughing and sneezing etiquette (cough or sneeze into the crook of your arm).
